Former Harris County Commisioner Jerry Eversole to be sentenced today

Former Harris County Commisioner Jerry Eversole who quit his position and plead guilty to providing false information will be sentenced today. He could get up to 3 years in prison. From Ch 13;

Eversole was accused of accepting bribes from developer Mike Surface. Eversole reached a plea deal. He resigned from office and pled guilty to lying to investigators.

Sentencing guidelines indicate he faces a maximum sentence of three years and a $100,000 fine. He is also not allowed to seek public office for 10 years. 

Don't expect much to come out of this. Eversole will walk with a minor slap on the hand.
