Bank on it. Rick Perry is the Teabag Party Nominee for President

The teabaggers control the once relevant GOP which means Rick Perry has the nomination wrapped up. Why Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, or any other weirdo candidate is still running is beyond me. They have lost already and should now just be sucking up to Perry for the VP slot.

Candidates like Romney and even Ron Paul, who thought they were running for the Republican Party nomination are slowly coming to grips that they are no longer in charge. The Baggers control the party and will determine the nominee for the front group GOP. Those who remain loyal to the GOP and who vote in the primaries are no longer relevant.

The Baggers are hook, line, and sinker in for Rick Perry even if he isn't what they think he is. Ignorance runs rampant in the Teabag party and Rick Perry is the master of ignorance. He knows better than to debate and defend his record. He knows better than to talk about a single topic after just a few sentences. He knows better than to engage in conversation.

Keeping the teabaggers buried in ignorance on his stance on immigration, job creation, social security, medicare, and any other topic is his key to winning the nomination. And as planned, the teabaggers are falling all over him.

They don't call Slick Rick, Slick for nothing.

Translating for Rick Perry: Immigration

Rick Perry is the guy that we, here in Texas, tend to referred to as "all hat and no cattle". He struts around talking tough about immigration calling for sanctuary city legislation and threatening to pass Arizona style immigration reform. But, when it's time to "git er dun"he doesn't. Not one single immigration bill was passed this last legislation session. Not one, as in Rick Perry's own words "nothing".

Immigration
When Rick Perry says "immigration" he really means nothing. Over the last ten years Perry has done absolutely nothing but talk about immigration. He called for an Arizona style immigration reform bill with a super majority in the House and special session rules to override any block in the Senate, and yet when it was actually time to get it done, it quietly failed.

There is a good reason why Rick Perry will not address immigration. His name is Bob Perry, the home builder. Bob Perry is Rick Perry's largest donor and is the largest donor to republicans in the country. Bob's attitude towards illegal immigration is pretty well known. Here is a snippet of what he and many other conservative business men said about immigration from an op-ed in the Dallas Morning News: (a copy can be found here)
But few young Americans want to do hard physical labor, particularly in our climate.

Not only that, but immigrant workers renew and reinvigorate America. They remind us what it's like to give a job your all. We talk about old-fashioned family values; they live them.

These are good people with good values doing work that we need done, reaching for the American Dream and helping make it a reality for all.
Texas' economy is dependent upon illegal immigrants. Bob Perry knows this. Rick Perry knows this. And Rick Perry is Bob Perry's bitch. That is why when Rick Perry says "Immigration" he really means "doing absolutely nothing to make my donor mad".

Congressman Pete Olson gets teabagged at his townhall mtg

Looks like Olson doesn't like it when his constituents demand his attention instead of reading from the book of teabag policy. Olson was booed when he claimed that he was representing his district and not just the teabag party. It is pretty clear that is exactly what he is doing and nothing else. Like a teabagger he has little if any class and simply repeats the teabag party line even if it is full of lies, inaccuracies, or just plain stupidity. But he got called for it. And loudly.

Below is a write up submitted by someone in the audience:

Today Congressman Olson completely lost his composure.  The usually suave Representative found himself yelling and gestering which is so unlike his public demeanor.
During the opening minutes of the Town Hall Meeting he led those in attendance through a questionaire, which he drew up, and gave out the answers.  He then went through some of the "successes" of the House of Representatives.  Among the bills he was most proud of were the blocking of the Cap & Trade Bill, Repeal of ObamaCare, vote to create 150,000 American Jobs (50,000 in Texas) by implementing the Keystone Pipeline  and the prevention of tax payer abortions.  While going through these "victories" he also showed graphs and charts.    When some in the crowd showed unrest and wanted him to get to the questions, that they had written down.....he said that they should be patient and that he would answer a lot of questions until 3:30PM.  That never happened as he left the podium before 3:00 due to the heckling and booing of some of those in attendance.  When the meeting began there were approximately 200 to 225 gathered to listen to him.  By the end of the meeting less than 150 were left.  The subjects covered were:

1.  The Banning of religion at the Houston National Cemetary [Bullshit controversy which never really happened]
2.  The tracking of weapons heading to Mexico and the death of two Federal Agents.
3.  The House passing a bill that would amend the Constitution on deficit spending.
4.  The Stimulus. "Obama had his chance with a $1 Trillion program.  Now let the Private
     sector create jobs."
5.  Israel.  "Israel", he said, "Had no better Ally in the world than the United States.  Obama
    has trashed relations with Israel."
6.  The House actually voted to "Save Medicare and Medicaid."
This was an interesting moment as some in the crowd called him a liar, a couple said he
really voted to cut Medicare.  At this point he yelled at the hecklers,  " Where's your
     Plan?"
7.  Tax Reform.  Tax code should be amended.
8.  Should Rich Pay More Taxes?
"We don't have a revenue problem we have a spending problem.  Why should we put
more tax on the job creators?"
9.  Does he represent the District or Special Interests?
He Yelled, "I have always represented this District.  I have never represented Special
     Interests!"
10.  Libya.  He said that the War Powers Act was abused by Obama.  "Obama was lucky
this time, but what about next time.  AND where will he use this power the next time?
11.  NASA.  When he began his explanation some in the audience called him a liar.  One
person shouted out a bill that showed he really voted against some part of the agency.
He said, sevral times, that this country should vote for a new president in 2012.
All through his presentation there were cat calls, boos and a lot of heckling in general.
There were loud chants of "We Want Jobs."  AND "Where Are the Jobs?"  There were some other questions as well, but I could not hear them nor the answers because of the anti-Olson shouting.
In his overall presentation one would have thought that Obama had nothing but Job losses since 2008.  Over and over he talked about how the stimulus and other Obama measures have been failures.

UFC @Rio predictions

UFC has dumped the numbering scheme for tonight's match up in Rio. Personally, I think I will find a bar with free admission, free beer and a free taxi to drive my broke drunk ass home before I would buy this card for $55. Here are a few predictions on tonight's fight card.

Silva vs. Okami. Okami is the only fighter to defeat Silva in a disqualification. That is the excuse the UFC is using to pump this fight up. Look for Silva to carry the fight to reward those in the crowd then end it with a quick one punch or one kick KO. Payday for Okami. Nothing else. (I would love to see Okami choke Silva out in front of his home town, but that aint going to happen.)

Rua vs Griffin. Griffin is always in a good fight, except when he was out classed against Silva and ran out of the ring in embarrassment, other than that, a fun fighter to watch. Rua was also out classed by his last opponent but tonight he is in his home country and can't afford an embarrassment. So this is going to be a fight to see who will out class the other. It won't matter since neither will get a title shot.

Nogueira vs Schaub. This is the only fight that I would consider interesting, I am hoping Nogueira gives Schaub an MMA lesson with Schaub eventually losing by submission, but it will probably end with Nogueira on his back KOed in the second and then announcing his retirement in front of the home town. What better way to call it quits?

Do yourself a favor and join me at the bar.

School District parody : Where Rick Perry are you tonight?

Sung to the tune of a Hee-Haw song by a North Texas School District. Notice the laughter and applause from the audience:

"Where, Rick Perry, are you tonight? Why did you leave us here all alone? You promised us funding for all Texas children; but then you heard 'White House' and -- pfft -- you were gone."

KHOU takes on illegal signs of Dick

Eric Dick is running for Houston City Council. He is a strange dude. His campaign has been illegally posting signs 30 ft in the air on utility poles. It is believed they are using a cherry picker to place these signs up and down I45 and I59. The City of Houston and Centerpoint Energy are not happy.

Dick claims it is just "over zealous volunteers" (with the funds to rent or purchase a cherry picker) that are putting up the signs. Dick says it is what campaigns do. Hopefully no one will get hurt taking these down, because Dick could get sued by an "over zealous injured employee". It is what injured people do.

Translating for Rick Perry: Free markets

Governor Rick Perry is the master of the buzz words such as "free markets", "less government", "low taxes", etc, etc, yet many will not take the time to understand what he is really trying to say. Maybe he just can't articulate past the buzz words or the corn dog he is shoving in his mouth, so here is a little help.

The translation for today: Free markets
Rick Perry has been bragging about his magic miracle of embracing free markets in Texas. You would think that after a decade of his free markets Texas would be awash in jobs and revenue. Instead unemployment is at 8.8%, just under the national average, and Texas had a massive $27 Billion shortfall in revenue.

What he means is that the markets here in Texas are free to charge whatever they want with little, if any recourse, available to the consumers.

Consumers aren't really picky. They expect a good product for their good money, and they expect those responsible to be held accountable when they are ripped off, cheated, maimed, or financially destroyed. Rick Perry's idea of a free market is one without oversight, regulations, and little if any legal recourse.

The results are pretty clear. The insurance industry was deregulated and our rates have soared and because of massive tort reform, there is little a consumer can do to hold them accountable. Electricity was deregulated and Texas moved from #4 in electricity affordability to #37. These are just two examples of the results of Rick Perry's free market.

So when Rick Perry says "free market" it means "free to do whatever the hell the market wants".

America and Nassau Bay Texas got talent!

For those of us who watch America's got Talent, the owners of Mediterraneo Market & Cafe will be having a watching party tonight. Why? Because according to Culture Map Houston:
Mediterraneo Market Café will be rocking tonight when Sonia and Magdy Kotb hold a viewing party for the semifinals of America's Got Talent. You might remember that their daughter, Miral Kotb, and her iLuminate group have been advancing along the talent search throughout the summer.
The Kotb family have been great supporters of the Great Chef's event for the Clear Lake Symphony which raises money for scholarships. If you haven't see iLuminate in action, take a look at one of my favorite performances:

Good luck to iLuminate and the Kotb family!

Rick Perry's socialized health care pays for experimental surgery

The hypocrisy of this man is never ending. From ibtimes:
The Republican contender, who has access to the best medicine, chose to get stem cells removed from his fat from his back and then reinserted in attempts to fix a bad-back.
What is that ignorant, simple minded, saying "IT'S YOUR MONEY!" Yep, you paid for Rick Perry's health care and will continue to pay for it for the rest of his life. You will also pay for his $125,000/year pension that he earned for working for the government ever since failing in the private sector.

Everyone hates socialized medicine except when it is THEIR socialized medicine or it is THEIR candidates socialized medicine. For the rest of you with a back injury, I suggest laying over a barrel.

You are half way there anyway.

Bailout of America voes to support Rick Perry

After taking billions of tax dollars to get bailed out of a self imposed fiscal nightmare, Bank of America's (Bailout of America) big wigs are fully behind Rick Perry with their lips firmly sewn to his ass even before the primary. From Raw Story:
In what looked like a covert lobbying effort, a top Bank of America official brushed past Gov. Rick Perry (R) during a New Hampshire business breakfast on Wednesday, shook his hand and uttered the words, “Bank of America, we will help you out,” before walking away as if nothing had been said.
One thing about Rick Perry, he can raise unlimited amount of corporate money from his buddies that he has funneled millions to. Look for billions to be raised and used for his support much like Bailout of America proposes to do.

Lucky for Pete we will not act like a bunch of ignorant jack asses. Of course he will screen every question and take only the softballs from the teabaggers. Have your questions ready anyway so he can ignore you. Maybe he should explain why he volunteered to leave the Science Committee and abandoned NASA. He also might remember the video clip that got him featured on MSNBC:

Rick Perry fact checking is not for the ignorant.

I appreciate the fact checking by the Houston Chronicle on Rick Perry, but I  don't think facts mean anything to the ignorant and Rick Perry is the master of the ignorant. No matter how incredibly ridiculous Perry's claims are, it is so much easier to just be ignorant and believe him. It takes no effort to be ignorant and Rick Perry knows this and will continue his lying cheatin' ways no matter how outrageous. For instance from the Chronicle:

“If you’re a tractor driver, if you drive your tractor across a public road, you’re gonna have to have a commercial driver’s license. Now how idiotic is that?”
That might be pretty idiotic…if it existed. It doesn’t.
What kind of an idiot would believe this stupidity? Unfortunately, there are enough voters who will not read past the first sentence of anything Rick Perry says.  To them, facts, smacks, anything can be proven with facts. The ignorant just doesn't care about facts.

And that is Rick Perry's advantage.

Fishing in Florida with Lighten Up Fishing Charters

Finding a good guide for fishing is tough, but I was lucky to have found Lighten Up Charters in Destin Florida for a 6 hour trip. If you are ever in the Destin area and want a great workout fishing, call Lighten Up!

We started our 6 hour trip by fishing for bait then traveled about 40 minutes out in the water. The water was like glass with hardly any wind, which made it a bit hot by the end of the trip. We started by fishing for Amber Jacks. We caught about 8 and kept 4 over the 30 inch limit. We didn't, and couldn't catch anymore since these were very hard fish to fight. All of our arms were hurting after hooking the very first one! Tough fish to bring in!

We finished the day catching red snapper and grouper, which we had to put back in. We also caught Scamp and some trigger fish. All in all a great day. We were pretty beat when we got back to the dock.

Teabagger hypocrites on parade: Tom Graves (R)

The hypocrisy coming from the teabag party is unbelievable. From Talking Points Memo:
Tea Party aligned Georgia Rep. Tom Graves (R), who castigates Washington for fiscal irresponsibility, reached an out of court settlement Wednesday after he was sued for defaulting on a $2.2 million loan -- which his attorney argued is the bank's fault for lending him the money in the first place.
The bank should have know that Graves was incapable of fiscal responsibility except for shooting his mouth off about it. Graves can join his teabag hypocrite buddies Rick Perry, Bachmann, Newt, and mnay many more including, Joe Walsh (R) who also said the following:
“I won’t place one more dollar of debt upon the backs of my kids and grandkids unless we structurally reform the way this town spends money!” Walsh says directly into the camera in his viral video lecturing Obama on the need to get the nation’s finances in order.
Walsh owes over $100,000 in back child support along other fiscally disturbing situations. Teabag hypocrites make the gop hypocrites look bad. (if the gop exists anymore)

Where are Harris County District Clerk's donations going?

Something is not right about this story from the Houston Chronicle about Chris Daniel, Harris County District Clerk:
Harris County District Clerk Chris Daniel has not collected hundreds of thousands of dollars in court costs since taking office in January because, critics say, it would hurt business for bail bondsmen who contributed to his campaign.
But..... Chris Daniel self financed his campaign with loans after loans to the point of looking like money laundering!  From a previous post:
Daniel loaned himself hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to repay himself hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It's almost as if he was attempting, awkwardly, to hide money from the IRS, or launder donations, which doesn't make sense, or cents. Or maybe it is just a simple case of complicated stupidity.
He raised only $9200 but loaned himself $199,000 throughout the campaign. The donations from the bail bondsmen he is protecting can be used to repay his loans. His next report should shed some light on how much his buddies are paying.

The District Attorney's ofice had this to say:
Kathy Braddock, chief of the district attorney's bond forfeiture division, declined to discuss Daniel.
However, she said the law clearly outlines that the district clerk has no discretion in either the amount of the fees to charge or the charging of those fees
"The district attorney's office believes the district clerk should be collecting all of the fees as mandated by state law," Braddock said.
I bet more will be said in the near future.

City of Houston looking at Dick

Eric Dick is running for city council. He has been paying a group called The Gemini Group for what seems to be sign placement. Driving from I59 and Beltway 8 from Sugarland all the way to I45 South to Clear Lake, there are Dick signs stapled  on utility poles.

Turns out the City of Houston has received a "large number" of calls concerning the sign placemtn.  It is illegal, as well as dangerous to put up and take down. The City of Houston is currently spending your tax dollars in removing these signs but will make a recommendation as soon as tomorrow to address further violations. Hopefully the City of Houston will take action that will send a strong message to other candidates who are law breakers wanting  to be lawmakers.

You have to wonder how they put the signs up that high. They either have to have a cherry picker truck or a pair of climbing cleats. Either way it is going to come to an abrupt and costly stop within the week.

Teabaggers rejoice in America's downgrade.

As I said before:

They don't deserve to be called patriots. They deserve to be called what they are. WARTS. White Angry Racists republican TraitorS.

Praying with Perry is like a dog humping your leg

Sometimes it is just best to leave them alone and let them finish.

Oh Lord, Let them prey!

Rick Perry and his right wing, pseudo christian, conservative, hate mongers acting like they really give a damn about the country will join in prayer tomorrow in Reliant Stadium. For those protesting, including me if I was not going out of town, I say let's just let them prey.

Let them prey on the elderly as they cut their social security and medicare so they can get a tax cut for those who do not need them.
Let them prey on the sick kids who parent's can't afford the health care in Texas.
Let them prey on the weak and the poor who look for help and find nothing but a prayer circle jerk.
Let them prey on those who are different.

Let them prey. For that is what they do best.

The Response: A Call to Prayer, for some.

I found it amusing that the Harris County republican party would endorse The Response, a call to prayer. I added a few choice words to their request for attendance to make it clear what this event is all about:
On Saturday, August 6, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, the nation, or about 6000 or so including at least 1 other Governor, will come together at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas for a solemn gathering of prayer and fasting for our country. God knows that the State of Texas, under republican rule for over 10 years needs all the help we can get. This state is more screwed up than a (*&damn Evangelist in a Texas whorehouse.

In these challenging times, we believe that America needs to call on God for His guidance, direction, and wisdom because we are not capable of governing, I mean, look what we did to this Country during the Bush Era! *&^Damnit to hell!

With August 6th quickly approaching, and only 6000 RSVPing in a 71,000 seat venue, we are asking for individuals like you to help stir awareness, momentum and get off your fat ass to attend The Response USA at the Reliant Stadium in Houston on August 6, 2011. Just remember the ground rules:
  • Parking is still $15/car. If you are cheap, carpool or walk your white fat ass to the stadium.
  • No Jews, Muslims, or any other non-Christians.
  • No chickens, fowl, or other offerings.
  • No snakes.
  • No dancing, chanting, or speaking in tongues. This is NOT a *&^damn freak show!
  • No concessions will be available. (This is a fasting event)
  • The roof will be open, so wear sunscreen.
Enjoy!

ERCOT: Please do not use your air conditioner!

ABC13 has reported the following:
The Electricity Reliability Council of Texas, is asking residents and businesses to reduce electricity use between 3pm and 7pm today and the rest of the week as temperatures in our area reach triple digits.
And TexasVOX reports:
The leading cause of weather related deaths in the U.S. is due to heat, yet during one of worst heat waves in state history, Texas is holding onto millions of dollars intended to help hundreds of thousands of elderly and low-income residents pay their electric bills.
There has been more brownouts during the last year than I can remember during the previous 18 years. We even had one during a freeze. Some how this deregulation crap hasn't worked out like they claimed providing low cost, reliable, electricity.

According to TexasVOX, there is a fund to help the elderly when temperatures soar, but the funds have been diverted in order to pay for Rick Perry's mismanagement of the budget. Talk about compassionate conservatives!
