Congressman Pete Olson's head stuck up his bible.

Geoff Berg can smell BS all the way to Clear Lake.

Pete Olson, John Culberson, Ted Poe and a bunch of bible thumping, bugged eyed, controversy seeking, hypocrites fabricated a story about religious persecution at the local Veteran Administration’s Cemetery, and Pete Olson fell for it.

The Three Stooges of Congress claimed the VA was banning prayers at the cemetery. Not only is this against the 1st Amendment of the Constitution, but it was also simply not true. Thanks to Geoff Berg's article in the Houston Chronicle, the truth shall set us free:

After filing suit, LI alleged that “Veterans Affairs Bans Mention of God at Funerals for Vets.” That’s just patently false; nobody is going around the cemetery and telling people not to pray.  So the VA responded:
Invoking the name of God or Jesus is not only allowed, it is common at VA National Cemeteries across the country. However, VA’s policy is that VA-sponsored honor guards should not make recitations at commital services unless requested to do so by the deceased’s survivor(s.)
But don't expect this controversy to be over. Never misunderestimate the power of ignorance.

Might I suggest that this noted First Amendment expert takes issue with the view you are expressing here?

Let's be clear, Berg's blog post isn't an article, it's an inaccurate opinion piece. An article would be fact checked and include a response from the people being attacked. Olson never called for the firing of the director until all of the facts have been provided. Check out the statement on his website and all of the coverage of his comments. He never called for the firing of anyone until all of the facts are in. You and Berg need do your homework before you make false accusations.

John has never let truth or accuracy get in the way of his posting character assassination in the past. Why would he change his modus operandi now?

To anonymous, your statement is simply an appeal to authority, and fairly meaningless.

I did a little checking on your link, the guy does not have anything remotely similar to stellar publishing or career attainments.

Correct me if I am wrong, just don't drool over his schooling or the pretty webpage. The bio for him there is a great feat in turd polishing.
