According to the U.S. Department of Energy, Texas ranks 17th among the states for the highest average price of electricity—11.7 cents per kilowatt hour. In 1999, before deregulation, Texas tied with Louisiana for 30th, at 7.1 cents per kilowatt hour. How is that for "shopping around"? Of course the electricity industry continues to bullshit stupid Texans with the simple minded comments such as:
According to John Fainter Jr., president and CEO of the Association of Electric Companies of Texas, an industry group said "A person who elects to shop can find electricity at a price lower than the last regulated rate,".And simple minded Texans continue to believe that crap even though they are paying out their ass for electricity. John Fainter is so full of crap his eyes have turned brown. I bet he is paying more for electricity and is getting paid too much to say otherwise, unlike stupid Texans who are paying more and are too damn stupid to admit it.
Enjoy the summer and your electricity bills.
