“They give us the bird and then they call our children ‘anchor babies,’"
Let me fill in the story. This situation has been brought to the attention of the Board of HISD because of what I found on the internet concerning these events, specifically the GOPs newsletter which:
- bragging about this school being "95% Hispanic"
- Not only elected officials came to the schools but candidates running for office within Harris County were introduced
- The school Principal was completely involved in the activities
- And the kicker, the newsletter showed pictures of a poster made by the children thanking the GOP and the chairman.
There's two problems. One, they have partisan politics on school property and that has to stop. And two, it's an insult.
They're trying to gain something here, because they're going to the Hispanic community and giving away bicycles. And then taking away their access to health care. So when they fall off this bicycle, what do they do?HISD has not responded to the complaint. Yet.
