Let's all vote for Proposition 1 if.....

The Renew Houston boneheads are at it again.

They can't seem to keep their mouths shut while looking at a good chance of making millions in new city contracts with the passage of Proposition 1. Instead, Bob Jones, the president of the engineering firm Jones and Carter, who would make millions from Prop 1 contracts, has shot his greedy mouth off at the African American city council members in an email saying:
I am flabbergasted by the position that you and three of your fellow council members have taken on Proposition 1. Listening to your press conference last week and reading the editorial below confirms my concern that we do not have any leadership from our African American council members.
Note to Bob.....City Council Member Mike Sullivan is also against Prop 1, but you didn't write an email criticizing the lack of leadership from the Anglo American council members, did you? No, instead you complain because someone dares to question the $170,000 bet (donation) you placed on Renew Houston for a chance at an $8 Billion jackpot.

This is the second boneheaded thing Renew Houston has done and it is time to draw the line. Here is an idea - Let's all vote for Proposition 1 if:
  1. Bob Jones and his company Jones and Carter is barred from bidding on any of the projects started with Prop 1 money.
  2. Anyone or any company that donates money to Renew Houston or Vote for Prop 1 is barred from bidding on any projects due to the obvious conflict of interest.
  3. Renew Houston issues an apology to HISD for their boneheaded press release.
Until then, Renew Houston can just stick it.

More can be found at the Houston Chronicle with a response from local African American leaders. If Renew Houston blows this $1 Million campaign, it might well be because of the greed of Bob Jones and the lack of communication skills of Renew Houston.

wow. jones can't be happy with the idea of sucking on the tit of the government for the next 20 years.

Typical republican. Taxes are great as long as they profit from it.
