Raising Campaign Cash: Larry Gonzales

Bob Perry has a new boy. Larry Gonzales is running for State Representative in HD 52 challenging a very well respected freshman, Diana Maldonado. In Texas politics, what Bob Perry wants, Bob Perry pays for.

According to records at the Texas Ethics Commission, almost half of the $337,000 raised by Gonzales came from one person, Bob Perry. Of the $1.8 Million Perry has donated in 2010, $150,000 was donated to Gonzales and $90,000 was PAC related money. Only 1/3 of all of Gonzales donations came from individuals.

As noted before:
Larry Gonzales won the Republican primary to challenge Diana Maldonado for State Representative District 52 in the Austin area. Maldonado has recently called for insurance reform after the massive failures of the reforms of 2003. She has worked with homeowners in Hutto, a small city with wide spread housing defects. She has been a great advocate for the hard working consumers of this state trying to restore some sort of fairness.
Don't expect Gonzales to side with the consumer if elected to the House. Here in Texas, you get what you pay for. And Bob Perry has paid a lot for Larry Gonzales.

In fighting for homeowners, Rep. Diane Maldonado was outspoken against the now-defunct TRCC, the abusive agency that Perry established to shield himself from "frivolous" lawsuits by angry homeowners. Is it any wonder he wants her voted out? Go Diane!
