Advice for the Green Party: Don't Mess with Texas Democrats

You think we are messing around? According to The Lone Star Project:
Records made available to the public make clear that Green Party leaders – particularly Executive Director kat swift and Party Co-Chair Christine Morshedi – knowingly conspired with Republican political operatives to use money from a secret donor funneled through a non-profit corporation to pay for the collection of ballot petition signatures. Green Party leaders have acknowledged publicly that they did not have the money or the organizational ability to collect the ballot signatures on their own (Source: Dallas Morning News, June 6, 2010).
LSP warns the Green Party and their leadership to think twice about challenging the Texas Democratic Party. Look what happened to Tom DeLay. DeLay is now indicted on money laundering charges which could carry a life sentence. If you haven't learned by now, the TDP isn't jacking around. When the Chair, Boyd Richie, gave his press conference in Corpus last week, you could tell he was not only disgusted about the games the Green Party is playing, but he was also very, very, serious and determined to follow this complaint to its end.

The evidence against the Green Party already points to a conspiracy that could end the Green Party in financial ruin, paying for all legal fees, and possibly facing  felony charges against their members and those responsible for this fiasco. One thing is for certain, the TDP will stand its ground and  is not going away anytime soon.

So if you want to fuck with the TDP then find some good luck. Cuz you will need it.

Thank you, John, for providing a great explanation of why the Travis County DAs office needs to be out of the business of prosecuting all cases of this sort in the state of Texas. Given that the office has been politically biased for decades and that the county's judiciary is consistently the most liberal in the state, it seems clear that the cases should be handled by local DAs and courts that are not owned by the TDP, which you seem to believe ought to be able to set policy in such cases.
