It's time to take Texas back!

I've had enough.

I've had enough of people like State Representative Debbie Riddle calling for legalized profiling of Hispanics instead of attempting to solve a very serious problem that her party has neglected for decades. Maybe it is time to take back Texas from these simple minded hillbillies.

Maybe they need to remember that we were in this state before they decided to do what they do best even to this day, invade other countries. Maybe we ought to start profiling those who look like Debbie Riddle to find the illegal Canadians and English, and Irish who are taking our jobs, crowding our bars, and drinking our scotch. Maybe we need to start deporting those who look and act like Debbie Riddle back to the back waters of Tennessee where wearing raccoon hats and carrying big knives is their kind of lifestyle.

For the rest of you who want to act like human beings willing to work on the issue of immigration reform with respect to the Hispanic community then join us. For those who want to act like rabid, foaming at the mouth, hillbillies like Debbie Riddle, State Senator Dan Patrick, and self proclaimed border watchers, by profiling people of color, then pack your *&^%ing bags and get the hell out of my state.

You want to shoot your mouth off about "Taking back our country", well I agree. Let's start with Texas. Stupid hillbillies. Go somewhere where you are appreciated. Like Arizona.

Well, she does represent The Woodlands, the master-planned community where frightened Anglo-Americans flee to escape other hyphenated-Americans. According to her remarks made on KHOU last night, Riddle wants to do away with "hyphenated" Americans, so that we can all be just Americans. I think that plays very well to her privileged-American base.

Here's the 2000 census breakdown for The Woodlands (from Wikipedia):

"The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.36% White, 1.75% African American, 0.29% Native American, 2.80% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 1.43% from other races, and 1.32% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.64% of the population."

I agree. If you want to act like a racist then go to Arizona or back to your homeland.

In the interest of historical correctness. The reason the Mexican government allowed Anglo immigration was to populate the area, civilize it and get rid of the indians, so there really were not a whole lot of Mexicans in Texas at the time.

Also, i like your site and few it frequently, BUT, i despise when right wingers tell me that if I do not like the way things are then I should get the hell out of their state. I like to think we are better than that. Let's just defeat them at the poles instead.

My point is that the GOP has tolerated and endorsed stupidity and racism during the immigration discussion and we (those who support resolving this issue) have allowed them to shoot their racist mouths off without calling them on it.

Im calling them on it. Again, if you want to be a KKK wannabe do so somewhere else.

If you want to discuss and solve this problem like a human being, lets get it done.

We all know immigration is a problem. Hell, Rick Perry had George Bush's cell number in his fave five and what did he do about immigration? NOTHING.

Did he raid his home builder buddies and stop them from hiring illegal workers? NO.

The GOP neglected this problem for a decade. Now all they want to do is act like a bunch of hillbillies.

It is time for that crap to stop.

Speaking as an Irish-American, if you're gonna come get us out of the pubs, there better be a LOT of you!

Mexican beer. Bohemia. Light. Refreshing. We can out drink any Irishman.

Wait....maybe not. :)

This is the last state to recognize MLK Day. In education we used to say "Thank God for Mississippi". In immigration I guess we have to take some solace that there's actually a state with more racist legislators than ours if that's possible.

I hope every non-white voter in this country looks at Arizona and realizes how much is at stake if we allow Republicans back in control.

"This is the last state to recognize MLK Day."

No, it isn't. MLK Day was established in Texas in 1987, years before several other states.

Who do you mean by "we?"

We as in not you?

I agree 100%. This is what happens when you let uneducated ignorant people like Debbie Riddle in to office. Lets make sure her days in office are numbered. Here is a report I found on Rep. Debbie Riddle ethics problems.

Ethics Commission fines Rep. Riddle
The Texas Ethics Commission has fined state Reps. Debbie Riddle, R-Tomball for campaign finance disclosure violations.

Not only is she a racist, she also a cheat.
