Texas Democratic Party Dumps LaRouche Candidate Kesha Rogers

Good for the Party! The State Democratic Executive Committee approved a resolution relieving the members of the party from supporting any LaRouche candidate running as a Democrat.
RESOLVED, that no Rules or Declarations of the Texas Democratic Party that require support for Party nominees shall be enforced or have any application as they relate to the  candidacy of any person identifying him or herself as aligned with the LaRouche Movement or Lyndon LaRouche, and, be it further
RESOLVED, that Members, Officers and Candidates of the Texas Democratic Party are neither required nor encouraged to support the candidacy of any person indentifying him or herself as aligned with the LaRouche Movement or Lyndon LaRouche but are nevertheless free to relate to, describe and interact with any such candidates or campaigns as they individually deem appropriate, and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the Texas Democratic Party will have no relationship with the  campaign of any person indentifying him or herself as aligned with the LaRouche Movement or Lyndon LaRouche; no such campaigns will have access to Party materials or data, no listing on the Party website and no position of privilege or recognition at Party meetings or conventions.

The full resolution:

WHEREAS, congressional candidate Kesha Rogers describes and defines herself as a LaRouche , Democrat, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Rogers' campaign rhetoric, literature, platform positions and web site confirm that she is a dedicated follower of Lyndon LaRouche and is an associate of and messenger for the LaRouche Movement, and
WHEREAS, prior actions by Lyndon LaRouche and the LaRouche Movement include instances of illegal activities, discriminatory proclamations and thuggish behavior, and
WHEREAS, the historical record of documentation, both produced by and relating to Lyndon LaRouche and the LaRouche Movement contains clear, convincing and overwhelming evidence of discrimination based on race, religion, sexual orientation and ethnic origin, and
WHEREAS, the rules of the Texas Democratic Party (Art. I, B, 1.) require that no test of membership, nor oaths of loyalty, to the Texas Democratic Party shall be used if those oaths or tests would have the effect of requiring members of the Democratic Party to acquiesce in, condone or support discrimination based on race, religion, sexual orientation, and ethnic origin, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that no Rules or Declarations of the Texas Democratic Party that require support for Party nominees shall be enforced or have any application as they relate to the candidacy of any person identifying him or herself as aligned with the LaRouche Movement or Lyndon LaRouche, and, be it further
RESOLVED, that Members, Officers and Candidates of the Texas Democratic Party are neither required nor encouraged to support the candidacy of any person identifying him or herself as aligned with the LaRouche Movement or Lyndon LaRouche but are nevertheless free to relate to, describe and interact with any such candidates or campaigns as they individually deem appropriate, and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the Texas Democratic Party will have no relationship with the campaign of any person identifying him or herself as aligned with the LaRouche Movement or Lyndon LaRouche; no such campaigns will have access to Party materials or data, no listing on the Party web site and no position of privilege or recognition at Party meetings or conventions.

Shocking! Texas Democrat insiders have declared that the voice of the Democrat voters in Texas shall be disregarded at the will of those insiders, and that the rules of the party may be disregarded at the whim of those same insiders.

Here's hoping that Kesha Rogers takes this corrupt crew to court and has this resolution overturned as contrary to the laws of the state of Texas and the rules of the Texas Democrat Party -- and these insiders stripped of their position for violating those rules.

Oh, and by the way, I hope that the body also voted to change the name of the party, given that it has renounced democracy by taking this particular course of action.

You don't read much do you?

More than you, apparently.

The voters decided who the Democrat nominee is. The party insiders declared that the will of the voters is irrelevant and that the party rules can be dispensed with in order to thwart the will of the voters.

So as i said before, I hope Kesha Rogers files suit and kicks the butts of the insiders who are violating the party rules.

And you aint too learnded either.

Those who voted in the democratic primary voted for her and can still vote for her. She is still on the ballot, but she will have no support from the Party.

SO what are you crying about? She is on the ballot. Now go campaign for her.

So what you are saying is that the Party is made up of the insider hacks, not the participants in the primary. Thanks for clarifying that matter for the people of CD22, the state of Texas, and the United States of America.

No. Your kesha is on the ballot. Your people can vote for her.

Everyone, including members of the party can support her.

THe party just declared that members of the party ARE NOT REQUIRED to support a candidate which displays anti-Democratic principles.

So, go stand on the corner of a busy street and hold your picture of Kesha and be happy.

Are the people the Party, or are the insider hacks the Party? If the former, by what right do the latter declare that the candidate selected by the people will have no "access to Party materials or data, no listing on the Party website, and no position of privilege or recognition at Party meetings or conventions"? That would make it appear that the voice of the grassroots of the Party is being stifled and their will usurped by the insider hacks.

So answer the question, please. Is the party the people, or is it the insider hacks?

Who cares?

She is not supported by the party.

end of story.

So your answer is that the insider hacks are the Party, not the people. After all, the people supported her by making her the nominee, but you claim that "she is not supported by the party". Thank you for that clarification that the TDP is an insider's club, and that the voice of the people as expressed at the ballot box during the primary is irrelevant to the insider hacks that control the TDP.

I think this is McCarthyism. Anyone who just goes to the site of Kesha's leader, LaRouche, the claims against LaRouche are in themselves bigoted, and supportive, implicitly, of the Republican.

I may have to become an independent.

Anyone find it ironic that the TDP is blackballing a black wman in the interest of opposing acism and sexism? Seems like the TBP has gone back to the bad old days of the nineteenth century!
