Last Word on Kesha Rogers Candidate for CD22

It is unfortunate that a person such as Kesha Rogers can file to be the Democratic Candidate for Texas House District 22 for a number of reasons. Why any Democrat would run in this area after the lessons of 2006 and 2008 is beyond me. This is probably why she ran. She is not a Democrat.

2003
CD 22 is a heavily republican district. It was designed that way in 2003 when Tom DeLay and Rick Perry re-redistricted. The district in 2003 was 65% republican and was reduced to 60% by giving a bone to CD9 in order to move the NASA facility under the control of Tom DeLay.

2004
In 2004 DeLay had the first legit challenger from Richard Morrison, an attorney from Sugar Land. Richard had a truly grassroots campaign with lots of energetic volunteers willing to work for him. It was a fun campaign, but with the 65/35 district, he lost. Richard has since become a very successful County Commissioner in Fort Bend County.

2006
In 2006 Congressman Nick Lampson the long term Congressman out of CD9 challenged Tom DeLay who then quit Congress after being indicted for money laundering. DeLay filed suit to have his name removed from the ballot but lost so Houston City Council Member Shelley Sekula Gibbs ran as a write in. And lost.

2008
With no ballot controversy and a Black candidate for President on the ticket, the white folk in CD 22 came out in droves to flip one of the few seats in the country (it might have been the only seat to flip) to restore their 60% republican voting record. (Palin/McCain won by 68%) NASA was now in the steady hands of a rookie. (How has that worked out for you?)

LaRouchie.
Only an idiot with no political sense would run in this district, so Kesha ran. She is a member of the LaRouche "Hitler" Youth Movement that attached themselves to the Democratic Party like a dog humping your leg. I made the mistake of reaching out to them when I first became politically active. It took a year to get them to stop calling me.

They are strange. Some of their leaders smell (I am not kidding). When they were block walking for their LaRouchite values they would sing at the door step. (Again. Not kidding) They have a relatively young group of people who walk around reciting the talking points of  "Intergalactic Space Trade" (really). The LaDouche movement is much like the Teabagger movement except without the racism.

Why did she win the nomination?
Keisha won on ignorance. The clubs and party in the area did little if anything to warn voters of her insane positions. She was also at the top of the ballot, the very first person you could vote for. So statistically she had an advantage. She had no campaign. No money. No plan. No field work. She was lucky. We were not.

The Last Word
Kesha is not an embarrassment to the party. She is a loon. We embarrassed ourselves by not getting the word out to voters. So, what do we do? Nothing. Like a dog humping your leg, sometimes it is best to just let them finish.

And that is the last word on Kesha Rogers Candidate for CD22.

At least from me........

I'm impressed, John, that you admitted your own incompetence as a political leader in this post.

Why did you leave out Richard Morrison in 2004?

I think you will be seeing a lot of her, John. Gerry Birnberg, Chair of the Harris County Democratic Party, thinks she's fabulous and great for the Party:

So, since you guys are in Harris County, I'm sure you will be expected to welcome her with open arms.

John, I quote you approvingly over at my place, but i think there is something you missed in this analysis of how Kesha Rogers got the nomination of your party.

Terry, I accidentally deleted your comment. Please return and resubmit so I can call you a loon too.

I gotta say doing searches and seeing that Kesha was out in the street everyday, and reading this critique really underscores a "freak-out" factor!

Kesha needs to just stick with her message because things are not getting any better for America or for this administration. This President has a -17% approval index!! We voted for change and Obama not only deceived us, but new voters who thought we were getting a once in a lifetime candidate, are throwing their will to vote in the trash. He's worse than Bush!

Kesha's talking about some interesting solutions so I hope she wins. Getting him Impeached would really send a message to his ego!

And this is why she is a loon and not a Democrat. We couldn't impeach a President for invading the wrong country or violating the Constitution by wiretapping for Gods sake.

And what grounds can she call for impeachment? She has no clue.

5 seats flipped red in 2008

TX-22 (durr)
LA-6 (Baton Rouge, won in a special, lost in the general)
KS-2 (Won in 2006, Dem refused to take national money/help in 2008, went down to the great white dope)
FL-16 (Mark Foley (R) to Tim Mahoney (not really a D) back to the Rs after Mahoney had an affair.)

and then a month later
LA-2 (New Orleans, Bill Jefferson was a crook and Anh Cao (R) is going down later this year in this 70%+ Democratic district anyways)

She campaigned. She had signs everywhere. The signs said something like "Support NASA, Impeach Obama."

It is not like the voters were making an uninformed choice.

Considering the looney tunes anti-Obama make-up of the district she might be the Democrats best shot this year there.
