Compare the 2009 revenue for the state of Texas with the 2000 revenue, and you’ll see something you might not expect from a state that is led by someone who is sympathetic to secessionists. Federal income has grown 108.53 percent since 2000, more than double the revenue growth of taxes (50 percent). In other words, Perry's great State of Texas, the state of "we don't need no stinking federal govmint" has been increasingly dependent on ....wait for it.....the stinking federal government. Hey, don't take my word for it, look at what others are saying on the Come and Take it blog:
This is nothing new, people… Rick’s rhetoric is so compelling (and at times, inflammatory) that a lot of people don’t even look at his record. For instance, to this day I still talk to people who are under the impression Rick rejected the entire federal stimulus package (when in reality he only rejected $500 million of the $16 billion or so Obama offered).
Perry gives new meaning to Come and Take It. The Teabagger Party must be so proud.
