Commissioner Jerrry Eversole Cleared for Resignation

Dave Wilson the hatemonger, right wing, republican was legally thrown off the Democratic ballot to challenge Harris County Commissioner Jerry Eversole. This leaves Eversole without an opponent in the primary and without one in the general election giving him the all clear for his resignation.

Former Houston City Council Member Toni Lawrence had mentioned she was going to run for the position in the primary, but must have been counseled by the Harris County Republican Party to Eversole's plan. With Dave Wilson out of the picture, the plan is now in place.

Eversole with the worst record of ethics violations in the history of the Texas Ethics Commission should have cleared the way for CM Lawrence by not filing for re-election. According to Eversole, he is currently under investigation by the FBI which may lead to an indictment. You would think this would be enough for Eversole to quit now instead of later, but I believe the gop has other plans much like they had for Paul Bettencourt.

My bet is that Eversole will win re-election, by default, then will immediately quit qualifying him for the Sarah Palin Quitter Award. Then Judge Emmett, if he is re-elected, will appoint CM Lawrence to the job. Judge Emmett is being challenged by former CM Gordon Quan so he better hunker down and win so he can finish the gop's job.

It is a win-win for everyone on the gop.
