Here is my two sense. Early voting starts tomorrow at the Clear Lake Library. Four women for Houston:
Annise Parker for Mayor. The City of Houston has an opportunity to elect one of the most qualified and complete candidates Houston has provided to voters in a long time, City Controller Annise Parker. It is just that simple. She has the fiscal knowledge to lead this city in the time of diminishing income due to the recession.
At Large Position 1. Karen Derr has worked hard on this campaign. She is a well qualified individual and would make a fine council member.
At Large Position 2 Sue Lovell. Sue has been a great City Council Member. Well respected, hard working. What more can you ask for? She has the experience and leadership we need to sustain our city during the economic downturn.
A Large Position 5. Jolanda Jones. Love her or hate her, you always know which side Jolanda is on. When you need someone in your corner Jolanda is the one to have. Her experience on Council is a great asset during the City's economic downturn. Returning her to Council would be a benefit to the city.
Oh and let's not forget the Controller's Office. Ron Green. A successful businessman, and a 3 term City Council Member, Green would continue the tradition of Annise Parker by being fiscally responsible and working together with the Mayor and City Council to solve the challenges of the budget. At this time, we need an independent Controller, but one that will work with the leadership of the city.
