Congressman Pete Olson: Setting the record straight

Recent attempts to distort my message at a Town Hall meeting have prompted me to send a brief note clarifying misinformation that has been circulating on the Internets and in the media.

Today, the liberal blogosphere-orama chose to run a 2 minute clip of a recent two hour town hall that I held in my district to discuss issues in Washington. This 2 minute clip has been a severe irritation to me like the time I starched my underwear, but that will not stop me from continuing to push for the public option by shamelessly dragging a sick child across my district.

Sure the private sector denied health care to his poor mother which is sort of like a death panel, but that is not the point I was trying to make by exploiting this young child. I was trying to put a human face on the problem we face in America. Unfortunately the only face I put on was a deer in the headlights look. My bad.

In the future I will make sure an incident like this never happens again. Before I exploit anyone I will make sure I have my story down. I will also adhere to strict rules and will not allow video cameras or audio devices in any future town halls. Pens and papers will be confiscated at the door. Media will not be allowed. This way no one will embarrass me facts in the future.

And one more thing, let me set the record straight: I am not a doe. A deer. A female deer.

So, to read Olson's note of clarification, he seems he had no idea what he was trying to say at his town hall meeting.

The example he chose had nothing to do with the argument he wanted to make. And now he is embarrassed that there exists yet another video clip of a Republican congressman making a complete fool of himself and lying to his constituents.

Too bad you and all of those places that repeated your lies won't.
