What is causing the high cost of medical care?

Time to take out the middle man!

John, you are wholly unqualified to pass judgement on the private sector that won't purchase your services.

WTF are you talking about?

That's not taking out the middleman.

There will still be a middleman -- someone in between the provider and the patient.

But instead of a company that's accountable to its customers, regulators and the courts, the middleman will be a faceless government bureaucracy.

Progress!

HA!!!! The insurance industry is accountable only to their STOCK HOLDERS!

Come on. Tort reform pretty much wiped out any medical malpractice suits here in Texas.

Give me a not for profit government anytime! If they created a public option, I would drop my insurance company in a heartbeat just to stick it to them like they have stuck it to me.

The insurance industry IS the problem with health care.

John, you already can take advantage of the public option.

Move to Canada or the UK.

Once again, republicans putting on their best face while bending over for their insurance companies.

btw No one is proposing a Candad or UK type of health care.

Of course when you are bent over and smiling, it is hard to understand this.

Who said anything about medical malpractice? Insurance companies are liable to their shareholders and policyholders by contract law.

"If they created a public option, I would drop my insurance company in a heartbeat just to stick it to them like they have stuck it to me."

That is undoubtedly true -- I'm sure you would prefer to subsist on the produce of your betters even more than you already do.
